Luxembourg trade mission arrives in China
From 23 to 30 November 2024, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce will organise a major trade mission to three key cities in China: Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou. Aimed at strengthening economic ties, this event promises to be a unique platform to explore opportunities in sectors such as logistics, e-commerce, automotive technology and green solutions.
China, the world's second largest economy by nominal GDP and the first by purchasing power parity, remains the centre of global industry and exports. The mission will cover two economic centres, Beijing and Shanghai, as well as Hangzhou, known for its innovations in logistics, manufacturing and technology.
The programme includes exclusive visits including:
- Huawei Technologies in Beijing: an introduction to innovations in autonomous driving.
- Second International Supply Chain Exhibition (CISCE): participants will be able to discover cutting-edge developments in clean energy, smart cars and digital technologies.
- Shanghai International Automotive City: exploring innovative solutions in electric and autonomous vehicles.
- Alibaba Headquarters in Hangzhou: presentation of China's digital marketplace and the opportunities of Alibaba's platform for SMEs.
It is noteworthy that the mission takes place against the backdrop of steadily strengthening relations between Luxembourg and China. As emphasised by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian, cooperation in the air transport, finance and steel industries is an example of successful cooperation that benefits both sides. During the mission, the participants will be able not only to establish business contacts, but also to discuss key issues of sustainability of global supply chains.
The mission offers a unique opportunity for Luxembourg-based companies to integrate into China's fast-growing market, access new technologies and broaden their horizons. Participation in events at this level can be the key to developing innovative solutions and entering new markets.
The trip promises to be both productive and inspiring: from exploring autonomous test drives in Shanghai to a visit to Alibaba's headquarters, where participants can learn the intricacies of digital commerce. This journey demonstrates Luxembourg's growing role as a bridge between Europe and Asian markets.
