Easter is not just a church holiday, but also a time when Luxembourg's villages and towns are transformed, welcoming spring with colour and good cheer. After the dreary winter months, the inhabitants especially appreciate the decorated public spaces, which become little islands of joy and inspiration.

Just like during Advent, when Christmas lights and installations fill the streets, Easter is now a visual celebration. Decorations with Easter bunnies, coloured eggs and fresh flowers appear all over the country, placed in the most visible places - from public squares to the entrances of administrative buildings.

In Walferdange, the burgomaster François Sauber told RTL that all the decorations were made by the municipal authorities. He emphasises how much joy and lively response these compositions bring: "People come with their families, take pictures next to our wooden hares - it creates a festive mood and a real springtime in the town.

Such installations turn the commune into a kind of local point of attraction - a place where people come not only for administrative matters, but also for the mood.

In Saném, as Mayor Simone Asselborn-Bintz points out, street design is a philosophy timed to coincide with the changing seasons. Particular attention is paid to public spaces where people meet on a regular basis: at schools, bus stops and squares.

The Easter figures were carved out of wood by community carpenters and have received rave reviews from residents. Asselborn-Bintz shares with a smile that such an initiative enhances the feeling of leaving the winter greyness for spring renewal.

These decorative gestures are not just beautification. They become signs of care, attention and participation, creating a space where aesthetics and community meet. People start not only enjoying but also adopting ideas: many residents are inspired by the decorations in the municipalities and start decorating their homes, balconies, gardens.

In this sense, Easter becomes a nationwide spring ritual in which municipal services become cultural mediators.
