By car
The national highway N7 traverses the municipality from north to south, serving as the primary vehicular artery connecting it to the city. Although joining the A7 highway directly from the commune is not feasible, access can be achieved by heading north on the N7 to Lorentzweiler. Despite being slightly removed from the city, reaching the capital's center or the Kirchberg business district takes just under 20 minutes by car
By bus
Steinsel is well-served by the Luxembourg City buses (AVL) on lines 10, 11, and 26, as well as by the General Road Transport Regime (RGTR) on lines 111, 112, 750, 751, and 752. Additionally, the commune offers a reservation-based "City Bus" service, the "Ruffbus Steesel." Depending on the starting point within the municipality, a bus journey to the city center can take between 15 minutes to half an hour.
By bike
Within the commune, short bike trips of less than 10 minutes are feasible, but traveling to the city takes about half an hour. Nonetheless, dedicated cycling paths ensure safe journeys through scenic natural landscapes.
By train

Steinsel underwent territorial adjustments in 1851 and 1853, losing sections to the creation of Walferdange and Kopstal communes, respectively, but overall, this territory has some historical sites to attract visitors and residents.
