Luxair fights for the title of best airline, but so far to no avail
Brussels Airlines has been ranked number one in a new ranking from Airhelp, which rates airlines on punctuality, customer feedback and support efficiency. This result particularly sets the carrier apart from industry leaders such as Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines, which traditionally dominate Skytrax's service quality ratings.
The assessment of companies is based not only on the level of comfort and entertainment on board, but also on the reliability of schedules. For example, high punctuality allows Icelandic low-cost carrier Play to take 5th place with an impressive rating of 9 out of 10 on this parameter.
Other European leaders in the top 10 included Austrian Airlines (6th place), LOT Polish Airlines, Wideroe and Air Serbia. This emphasises the high competitiveness of European carriers.
Luxembourg-based carrier Luxair was ranked 34th with a score of 6.9 for punctuality, 7.7 for customer feedback and just 6 for the effectiveness of customer support. These results put the company between British Airways and Saudia, confirming the need for improvement in passenger interaction.
At the bottom of the ranking were Nouvelair (107th), Buzz and Tunisair (108th). However, the presence of low-cost airlines such as Play in the top 10 demonstrates that affordable prices can be combined with high reliability and quality of service.
The Airhelp ranking shows that European airlines continue to hold a strong position in the global market. Brussels Airlines has proven that even small carriers can compete with the major players through customer care and quality service. Luxair, despite its modest results, has the potential to improve its performance to meet travellers' expectations.
