The Alzingen-Hesperange bypass project is in the preparation phase. The main focus is on completing detailed studies of the road alignment by the end of 2024. These studies will form the basis for the funding bill to be submitted in 2025. However, the timing of implementation remains uncertain due to the complexities associated with environmental, engineering and administrative aspects.

One of the key features of the project is environmental impact studies. It aims to minimise environmental damage and meet sustainable development standards. Geotechnical and engineering studies are also being carried out to ensure the long-term sustainability of the road structure.

The project emphasises the development of so-called "soft mobility" (mobilité douce), including the construction of a separate cycle track that will run parallel to the bypass. This route will connect existing cycle networks, such as the national route PC1, with the future routes PC11 and 103, forming an integrated sustainable transport system.
