Beware of scammers in Luxembourg car parks

In November, fake QR codes were discovered on parking machines in Luxembourg that redirect users to fake websites. These stickers, disguised as the Easy Park brand, ask visitors to enter personal data, including payment information, on an unsecure platform.
The city administration warns that Easy Park is a legal company, but it does not operate in Luxembourg. The only official way to pay for parking in the capital is via the Indigo Neo app. This app requires installation, registration and data entry only on the company's verified servers. Official stickers with the Indigo Neo logo have already been installed on parking machines, which are characterised by their quality and design.
Fraudulent stickers are being actively removed from parking machines, and the authorities have filed a police report. Meanwhile, citizens and tourists are asked to carefully check the information before paying and refrain from scanning suspicious QR codes. This is yet another example of how criminals use modern technologies to steal data, playing on people's trust in digital tools.
The authorities stress that such incidents require vigilance and knowledge of how to recognise fraud. If you encounter such an incident, report it immediately to the Luxembourg police or municipality.
