Delhaize Luxembourg has officially announced the recall of one of its products - a pack of its signature pre-fried potato frites. The reason is an error in the labelling of the expiry date: instead of 13 April 2025, the packaging shows 13 May. Although the difference is only a month, it could mislead consumers and create a risk of consuming the product after its actual shelf life.

Representatives of the Delhaize chain stressed that consumers should not consume this product after 13 April 2025. All customers who have already purchased this product can return it to the shop where it was purchased and receive a full refund.

Such cases highlight the importance of accurate labelling on food products: even minimal deviations in date can affect both the safety of consumption and customer confidence. So far, no product quality complaints or health problems related to this batch have been reported.

If you find Delhaize frites in your freezer with a date of "13/05/2025", you are advised not to consume them and return them to your nearest chain shop.
