Luxembourg students took part in a cybersecurity championship

A dozen young people from Luxembourg, aged between 16 and 25, took part in the European Cyber Security Challenge in Turin, where they competed against representatives from 40 countries. Under the guidance of Marc Ludwig, a cyber security teacher at the Lycée Guillaume Kroll in Esch-sur-Alzette, the participants performed various tasks related to finding website vulnerabilities and analysing binary code (reverse engineering).
The competition included several days of intense challenges, such as Capture the Flag, where participants had to solve complex security problems. However, Ludwig notes that Luxembourg's chances of winning are not very good, as countries with more participants, such as Germany, Spain and France, have an advantage.
Despite this, the lecturer is encouraging young people to enter the national Lëtz Cybersecurity Challenge to develop their cybersecurity talents and attract new recruits to this important field.
