Luxair passengers holidaying or going to the Canary Islands are facing an unpleasant surprise: a general strike in the hotel sector is taking place on 17 and 18 April in Tenerife, La Gomera and La Palma. This was officially announced by the airline on Thursday.

Despite the scale of the promotion, all Luxair flights to and from the Canary Islands are running on schedule. However, the hotels themselves are operating with restrictions. Some locations have temporarily reduced services, including housekeeping, catering and animation programmes.

Luxair specifies that hotels are providing basic food and beverages to minimise inconvenience to guests. The hotels are expected to be fully operational from 19 April.

In the meantime, LuxairTours teams are in contact with tourists, guides and local partners. The airline assures that it is taking all possible measures to minimise the negative impact on its customers.
